Job summary

Realstar is seeking a Resident Manager to live at one of our properties in Canada. The role requires on-site living, four weekdays per week, every second weekend, and on-call some evenings. The successful candidate will manage daily operations, maintenance requests, and resident events to ensure a high standard of service.

The position offers an apartment, base compensation, and employer-paid benefits, with annual bonuses based on performance and ongoing training programs.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles is preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in basic computer tasks and applications.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner.

• Handle administrative tasks like processing applications and lease renewals.
• Organize resident events and coordinate daily operations.

Job description

We are currently seeking a Resident Manager to live and work at one of our properties. This position would require you to live on-site and work four weekdays each week, every second weekend and on-call some evenings. This offer is for an existing vacant position within the organization.

Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

• Greet and interact with residents in a friendly and professional manner
• Promote a welcoming atmosphere
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and a "can-do" attitude
• Attend to resident concerns and service requests within 24 hours
• Follow up with residents to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Handle office administrative tasks, such as processing online applications, creating notices, managing lease renewals, and other duties related to support daily operations
• Organize, promote and execute resident events (i.e. holiday parties & summer barbeques)

General Cleaning:

• Maintain cleanliness of all common areas including foyers, amenity rooms, underground parking garage, locker rooms, patios, and rooftops
• Knowledge and safe handling of cleaning chemicals
• Perform thorough cleaning of vacant units, including appliances, floors, walls, windows, kitchens, washrooms, and balconies, ensuring they are move-in ready
• Dust fire hose cabinets, bells and elevator tracks to minimize excess debris
• Monitor and clean of garbage chutes, garbage and recycling rooms
• Collection of garbage and recycling bins in coordination with the city waste schedule
• Knowledge and understanding of the safe handling of cleaning materials (WHMIS)
• Conduct yard maintenance, including picking up loose garbage around the exterior of the property, removing snow and ice, salting entrances, walkways, and rooftop walkways

Property Maintenance:

• Assist residents how to complete maintenance requests through the proper channels
• Daily walkthroughs of each floor, stairwell, and common areas fixing minor deficiencies
• Report serious deficiencies related to curb appeal or safety hazards to the direct supervisor for further action
• Assist the supervisor in HVAC monitoring, troubleshooting minor electrical, plumbing, boiler & chiller maintenance
• Assist the supervisor with scheduling and overseeing repair activities of tradesmen and contractors as required

Qualifications:

• Previous or similar property management experience an asset
• Strong customer service skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to perform general cleaning duties, and minor maintenance repairs
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to push and move objects exceeding 50 lbs. (e.g. garbage bins, appliances)
• Fluent in English
