Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Server to provide courteous meal service to residents and guests, set up and maintain dining areas, and ensure cleanliness before, during, and after meals in a senior living community. Reporting to the Food Services or Hospitality Manager, you will work in a resident-centered team, follow food safety standards, and contribute to a warm, home-like dining experience.

The role emphasizes compassionate interaction with residents and adherence to infection control policies

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to communicate professionally and maintain respectful relationships with residents, team members, volunteers and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and beverages to residents according to their dietary restrictions and individual preferences while encouraging independent feeding.
• Sets up, cleans and sanitizes the dining room and servery prior to and after meal service.
• Sets up, serves and cleans dining areas during special events, large orders and catered functions as needed.
• Interacts with residents to take meal orders and answer menu questions.
• Provides tray services according to the care or service plan.
• Prepares and serves a variety of beverages, including freshly brewed coffee and tea.
• Stores food in designated areas following all food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Assists with receiving food and supplies and stores them in the appropriate areas while observing proper stock rotation.
• Ensures a safe and sanitary environment for team members and residents through adherence to organizational standards and protocols.
