Job summary

COGIR Immobilier's Cherbourg residence seeks two Resident Care Attendants to enhance residents' quality of life through hygiene and comfort care in a friendly, on-call setting.

This casual, on-call position offers flexible hours; you will support daily activities, accompany residents, and coordinate with nurses and families to maintain trust and safety.

Qualifications

• 1 year of relevant experience is an asset.
• Flexibility for the work schedule.
• Excellent communication skills are essential.
• Knowledge of retirement homes is a plus.
• CPR/AED certified and up to date.

Responsibilities

• Assist and accompany residents in daily activities.
• Support residents to activities, dining, and appointments.
• Notify nurse or health services if health changes are observed.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure resident safety.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Cherbourg residence, managed by Cogir, offers a friendly and stimulating work environment. We have a dedicated and caring team for our seniors.

We are currently seeking two Resident Care Attendants to contribute to the residents' quality of life. The Resident Care Attendant ensures the comfort, well-being, safety, and general needs of residents by providing hygiene and comfort care.

This is a casual, on-call position with variable hours.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Answer ringtones
• Assist and accompany residents in their travels
• Collaborate in maintaining the bond of trust with the families or loved ones of the residents as well as with the various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
• Ensure the accompaniment of residents to activities, the dining room and appointments at the home
• Notify the nurse and/or the person in charge of health services of any changes observed in the state of health of the residents
• Respond to all emergency situations

Health Care

• Assist the nursing staff in tasks that require no hands-on care of the resident
• In collaboration with the different teams, carry out health and hygienic care to the residents while maintaining their dignity and integrity .

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 year of relevant experience will be considered an important asset
• Flexibility for the work schedule

• Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
• PDSB training
• High availability, evenings and weekends
