The Centre for Research & Innovation Support (CRIS), serves as both a visible and virtual hub and tri-campus connector with a physical location at the Gerstein Science Information Centre and a researcher-centric website where faculty can learn about and easily access the many existing services, training, research tools and expertise offered across the University. By providing leadership and coordination with central units and academic divisions, CRIS promotes the visibility of, access to and value of research and innovation supports. CRIS coordinates and delivers a broad range programming that supports researcher development in six key functional areas .

Reporting to the Manager, CRIS Operations & Programs and working closely with the team and leaders across the university, the successful applicant will have the exciting opportunity to support the planning and delivery of researcher-centric services that enhance the overall research and innovation impact at the University of Toronto.
The Research Tools & Technology Liaison contributes their up-to-date knowledge of resources, tools and technology relevant to scholarly research and innovation. This includes contributing their understanding of broad range of available and emerging research resources across all stages of the research process and applicable across a diverse set of disciplines. The incumbent works with the CRIS team and partners across the university to communicate and amplify these resources across the tri-campus. As a direct liaison for faculty and divisional research offices, with partners, the successful candidate will help to identify available solutions and in doing so, build effective stakeholder relationships. The Research Tools & Technology Liaison will work as part of the project team to develop and refine researcher-centric resources such as the CRIS Resource Hub and Digital Research Infrastructure Portal and to identify emerging needs using the application of a UX (user experience) approach or other effective user-centered design and evaluation strategies. The successful candidate will lead working groups and other engagement activities, and apply project management principals to ensure that project milestones are established and achieved. They will synthesize meeting recommendations, stakeholder consultations and existing documentation and best practices, and work collaboratively with CRIS stakeholders to identify, assess and recommend new tools and resources for research to be piloted and/or recommended for adoption. The Research Tools & Technology Liaison, will connect with stakeholders, to develop documentation and procedures to support effective roll-out of new tools for scholarly research and coordinate and/or facilitate complementary supports, training or workshops to build capacity for researchers to utilize new research tools and technologies.
