University of Toronto, Faculty of Arts & Science, seeks a Communications & Event Officer (75% FTE) to lead communications materials, marketing and outreach for the Quantum Advantage Toronto initiative, increasing national and international profile.
This part‑time role ends in Oct 2028 and requires a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of related experience in research communications, website management, digital marketing, and project coordination.

Quantum Advantage Toronto (QAT) is an interdisciplinary institutional initiative with 5 years of committee funding, that brings together leading researchers, industry partners, and domain experts to accelerate the development of real-world applications of quantum technologies. Building on the University of Toronto’s internationally recognized strengths in quantum information science, QAT fosters collaboration across fields such as physics, chemistry, engineering, life sciences, medicine, finance, and policy to translate foundational discoveries into solutions with societal and economic impact. Through coordinated research programs, strategic partnerships, and innovative training opportunities, the initiative aims to position Toronto as a global hub for quantum innovation; advancing breakthroughs in areas including sensing, communications, materials, and computing while supporting the growth of Canada’s quantum ecosystem.

Reporting to the Associate Director of the Quantum Advantage Toronto, the Communications & Event Officer will be responsible for the design and development of communications materials, marketing, and outreach event efforts of the initiative to increase the profile and reputation of this initiative, nationally and internationally.
This is a part‑time (75% FTE) opportunity with term ending in October 2028.
