Description:
The Enterprise Applications and Solutions Integration (EASI) department within the Chief Information Officer’s (CIO) Division is a central department responsible for all matters pertaining to the development, maintenance and effectiveness of the core administrative management and student systems at the U of T. Included within these responsibilities are all central SAP systems, such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Research Administration and Procurement; the central U of T Student System (ROSI); approximately 40 related vendor and specialized web applications, as well as central Business Intelligence and Document Management applications.
Reporting to the EASI Executive Director, the Senior Communications Officer develops and implements strategic communications, marketing, and digital engagement plans that advance departmental priorities and strengthen brand visibility. The role leads integrated marketing campaigns, creates compelling content for internal and external audiences, manages social media strategies, and advises on communications, branding, and outreach best practices.
The position works closely with senior management, internal stakeholders, partners, vendors, and external contacts to coordinate communications, marketing activities, events, and project initiatives. Responsibilities include developing materials for websites, newsletters, reports, dashboards, surveys,presentations, promotional materials, and other communications products that support project rollouts and departmental objectives.
The role also uses market research, data analysis, campaign metrics, customer feedback, and ROI reporting to evaluate effectiveness and inform decision-making. As a communications resource, the Senior Communications Officer provides guidance on brand standards, project scope, resources, and communication strategies while ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging across all channels.
NOTE: This is a 10-month term position.
