An established industry player is seeking a dedicated individual to support its research program within the Department of Surgery. This role involves coordinating research activities, managing grant applications, and liaising with funding agencies. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of research initiatives and will provide essential administrative support to the Surgery Research Director. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful research and collaborate with a dynamic team in a supportive environment.
Reporting to the Department Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for coordination activities in support of the Department of Surgery’s research program. Responsibilities include a broad range of functions such as providing research accounting activities, generating research account reports in FAST, setting up research projects in TRAQ DSS, coordinating ethics submissions, preparing annual research productivity reports, supporting the preparation and submission of competitive applications to research funding agencies, liaising with researchers to determine research needs, providing guidance on potential funding sources, and providing assistance with research applications in advance of their submission. In all of these activities, the incumbent will act as liaison with internal and external granting agencies as well as the Queen’s Office of Research Services.
The incumbent will also provide administrative support to the Surgery Research Director, and back-up Finance support to the Department Financial Officer, as needed.
