At BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc. (BWXT NEC), we are committed to excellence in every business initiative. With nearly 500 workers across locations in Peterborough, Toronto, and Arnprior, BWXT NEC supplies nuclear fuel and fuel channel components, services, equipment, and parts for the CANDU nuclear power industry.

Position: Repair and Clean Person

We are currently seeking a Repair and Clean Person to support our Peterborough team.

Responsibilities

1. Clean and maintain the facility using manual and power equipment.
2. Perform minor preventative maintenance.
3. Manage storage and cleaning of waste and hazardous materials used in manufacturing.
4. Work within a team to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation.
5. Use ladders and equipment at various heights to replace filters in dust collection systems.
6. Thoroughly clean large vacuum ovens.

Qualifications and Experience

1. Grade 12 Technical diploma or equivalent.
2. Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license.
3. Possess or obtain forklift operator license and Level 1 crane operator license (>15 tons).
4. Possess or obtain Transportation of Dangerous Goods certificate.
5. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team.
6. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Selected applicants will be tested and interviewed.

Compensation

The starting hourly wage in Ontario is expected to be between $30.91 and $34.34. The actual salary will depend on market factors and the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. The total compensation may include additional elements such as annual incentives and comprehensive benefits, details of which will be provided upon offer.
