The Opportunity

The Maintenance Technician maintains the community, equipment, and grounds in a safe and efficient manner to support a successful preventative maintenance program. This role requires flexibility and close collaboration with staff and departments to ensure a safe, clean, and healthy environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

What Is In It For You
  • Repair and maintain the interior and exterior of the building, including gardening, landscaping, and pest control.
  • Assist in routine ground maintenance such as cutting, trimming, and sweeping parking areas and driveways.
  • Coordinate and oversee inspections by subcontractors and collaborate with the General Manager on recommendations.
  • Perform routine and minor repairs on building systems and equipment, including plumbing, drywall, carpentry, and mechanical systems (major repairs are handled by contractors).
  • Monitor and repair lighting fixtures, call lights, exit signs, and exterior lighting as needed.
  • Complete and review maintenance checklists regularly, ensuring accurate records of scheduled maintenance.
  • Follow Preventative Maintenance Check Sheets and Schedules, recommending revisions to management as necessary.
  • Plan and schedule job activities to be completed within the workday, prioritizing tasks effectively.
What You Will Need
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems, with a good understanding of boiler and furnace systems.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience with plumbing, mechanical systems, painting, and general maintenance.
  • Supervisory experience is an asset.
