Marqeta, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Core Edge Processing team to write and ship production code that powers real-time payment processing.

You’ll work closely with senior engineers and own features end-to-end, from design through production, in an on-call capable role. You’ll deepen your Java skills, learn distributed systems, and contribute to a high-availability infrastructure that routes and authorizes transactions across card networks.

Qualifikationen

• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience deploying and operating mission-critical services in AWS.
• Strong Java fundamentals; interest in deeper knowledge.
• Ability to debug production issues with team support.
• Eager to learn distributed systems and payment processing.
• Strong communicator who asks good questions and takes feedback.

• Ship production code across our routing and processing stack, with senior engineers in your corner.
• Own well-scoped features and bug fixes end-to-end, from design discussion to production.
• Join the on-call rotation and incident response, building operational fluency on live payment systems.
• Grow your Java, distributed systems, and payment processing skills through hands-on project work.
• Work side by side with senior and staff engineers to expand your technical scope.
