Job summary

Geosyntec is hiring a Senior Environmental Management Practitioner to lead environmental compliance and due diligence initiatives from Guelph, Waterloo, or Cambridge with a potential fully remote arrangement at the company’s discretion. You will mentor staff, manage projects, and drive client growth in North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, chemistry, earth science or related field (required).
• Advanced degree in a related field (preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in a consulting environment (required).
• Experience conducting transactional environmental due diligence (required).
• Experience managing environmental compliance, risk, permitting, planning, and oversight of projects (required).
• Excellent writing and communication skills (required).
• OSHA/MSHA training and CPR certification paid by the firm (provided).
• Valid Canadian driver’s license and driving record for travel (required).

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental transaction due diligence for acquisitions, divestitures, financing, and development projects (Phase One ESAs, LECRs).
• Direct environmental compliance services and multi-media audits for diverse clients.
• Develop compliance documents and risk management strategies per Ontario/Canadian regulations.
• Provide litigation support in compliance areas.
• Review regulations and develop client strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, letters, memos, plans, specs, proposals.
• Provide client-facing project management, technical advice, and training on compliance and environmental management systems.
• Support marketing efforts and client business development.

Education

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, chemistry, earth science (geology or hydrology), environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or a related field

Advanced degree in a related field (preferred)
