Job summary

RWDI is seeking an energetic Senior Environmental Geoscientist or Engineer to join our Geoscience team in Ontario. The role leads ESAs, remediation projects, and excess soil management from proposal development to completion.

You will serve as a technical liaison with clients and staff, review proposals and reports, and ensure the technical integrity of projects. The position requires 15+ years of consulting experience and professional licensure in Ontario.

Qualifications

• 15+ years consulting experience focusing on ESAs and remediation.
• Licensed in Ontario as P.Eng or P.Geo.
• QPESA designation per O. Reg. 153/04.
• Solid knowledge of Ontario Regs 153/04 and 406/19.
• Post-secondary education in hydrogeology, engineering, or earth sciences.

Responsibilities

• Lead ESAs, remediation, and excess soil management from proposal to completion.
• Technical liaison with clients, stakeholders, and staff.
• Prepare/review technical reports and client communications.
• Ensure technical integrity and quality of projects per RWDI standards.
• Represent company on liability issues and provide expert analysis/testimony.
• Mentor and train staff within the Practice Area Leader's plans.

RWDI is seeking an energetic Senior Environmental Geoscientist or Engineer to join our Geoscience team in Ontario.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), remediation projects, and excess soil management projects from proposal development to project completion.
• Technical liaison with clients, stakeholders, and internal project staff.
• Prepare/review technical proposals, technical reports, and client communications summarizing project work, findings, and recommendations.
• Assumes ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of projects and ensuring the quality of product (technical scope and defensibility of solution/results) meets RWDI standards and client expectations and meets standards of professional practice.
• Assures that the project risks (engineering solutions proposals and all representative materials containing results, recommendations, conclusions) are within RWDI’s standard parameters and meets standards of professional practice.
• Represent the company on liability issues and may provide expert analysis and/or testimony at hearings.
• Participate in special marketing assignments or business development initiatives where a comprehensive technical background is required.
• Is one of the technical leaders within their area of practice in industry (i.e., presenting at conferences, conducting webinars, publishing papers, etc.)
• Actively participates in industry/professional organizations, associations, committees.
• Participate in business development activities and provide input into strategic initiatives for the Geoscience business unit.
• Responsible to mentor, coach, and provide subject matter expertise in the execution of training plans established by the Practice Area Leader.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:

• 15 + years consulting experience focusing primarily on Environmental Site Assessment and remediation, contaminant hydrogeology, and excess soil management.
• Licensed under Professional Engineers - Ontario (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientists of Ontario (P.Geo.).
• A Qualified Person as defined by O. Reg. 153/04 for Environmental Site Assessment (QPESA).
• Solid working knowledge of Ontario Regulations 153/04 and 406/19.
• Post-secondary education from an accredited institution in hydrogeology, engineering, or earth sciences.

Additional attributes considered an asset

• Strong comprehension of environmental legislation in Ontario, including but not limited to Environmental Protection Act, Ontario Water Resources Act and Species at Risk Act, as well as associated relevant Regulations.
• Experience providing expert testimony and litigation support.
• Ability to speak and write in French.
