Job summary

Placements24 in Canada is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer with deep expertise in process simulation to join a fully remote team. You will develop, validate, and apply advanced process models to analyze, optimize, and troubleshoot chemical processes across global operations, working independently with distributed engineering and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of hands-on simulation experience, a degree in Chemical Engineering, and expert proficiency with Aspen Plus, HYSYS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in process simulation and modeling
• Expert proficiency with at least one major process simulation software package
• Strong understanding of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, and unit operations
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously
• Proven experience working effectively in a remote or distributed team environment

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve dynamic and steady-state process simulation models using industry-standard software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, gPROMS)
• Perform sensitivity analyses, optimization studies, and 'what-if' scenarios to identify process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Validate simulation models against plant data and ensure their accuracy and reliability
• Provide technical support and expertise to global operational and engineering teams through remote consultation
• Generate detailed reports and presentations summarizing simulation results and recommendations
• Stay current with advancements in process simulation technology and methodologies
