Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer specializing in upstream oil and gas. This fully remote role provides expert technical support for offshore and onshore production facilities, focusing on maximizing efficiency while ensuring safety and minimizing environmental impact.

You will use process simulations (HYSYS, Aspen Plus), perform heat and material balances, review P&IDs, and mentor junior engineers in a global, remote team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of upstream oil and gas process engineering experience.
• Expertise in hydrocarbon processing, separation technologies, and utilities.
• Proficiency with process simulation and data analysis.
• Knowledge of flow assurance principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide process design, optimization, and troubleshooting guidance for upstream facilities.
• Develop and review simulations, heat/mass balances, and P&IDs for projects and operations.
• Identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and safety.
• Review vendor equipment against project specs and standards.
• Perform flow assurance studies and address hydrate/wax/asphaltene issues.
• Support Process Safety Management (PSM) implementation.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the organization.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert technical guidance on process design, optimization, and troubleshooting for upstream oil and gas facilities .
• Develop and review process simulations, heat and material balances, and P&IDs for new projects and existing operations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce operating costs, and improve safety.
• Conduct technical reviews of vendor equipment and processes to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Perform flow assurance studies and recommend solutions for hydrate, wax, and asphaltene issues.
• Support the development and implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) protocols.
• Mentor junior engineers and share technical knowledge across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline; Master's degree preferred.

• Proven expertise in hydrocarbon processing, separation technologies (e.g., separation vessels, dehydration units), and utilities.
