Job summary

The Eclipse Foundation is seeking an Open Source Software Release Engineer to manage CI/CD infrastructure and support a global developer community. This remote role emphasizes automation, observability, and DevOps practices across large-scale Jenkins and GitLab CI environments.

You will collaborate with IT teams and open source contributors, driving efficiency, security, and maintainability while applying best practices in release engineering and tooling integration.

Qualifications

• CI/CD best practices and managing CI services (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
• Build systems: Maven, Gradle, CMake
• Linux system administration and Bash scripting
• DevOps with Configuration as Code and IaC (Ansible, Terraform)
• Git distributed version control and forges (GitHub, GitLab)
• Team player, self-starter, able to work independently
• Proficient in English and clear communication with stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Support and operate two large-scale CI systems: Jenkins farm and GitLab CI
• Collaborate with community members via public channels for CI/CD support
• Advocate for a DevOps mindset emphasizing efficiency, security and sustainability
• Participate in Observability efforts
• Integrate new technologies and processes for efficiency and maintainability
