Job summary

Brim Financial Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Leader to guide a high-growth engineering team across Canada and the US. You will own delivery velocity, mentor engineers, and partner with product to prioritize features while scaling CI/CD practices and platform services.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in software development and a track record of leading across the full stack, distributed systems, and multi-team collaboration in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years leading a team
• Strong full-stack fundamentals, with the ability to spot architectural risk and guide decisions
• Experience building and scaling distributed systems, APIs, or platform services
• Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers through growth and change
• Comfort with remote-first, async daily collaboration across time zones
• Excellent written communication and ability to document and proposal clear plans
• Ability to balance deep technical guidance with people and stakeholder management

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of engineers, setting clear goals and driving structured growth conversations
• Identify skill gaps and create targeted development plans, especially in AI tooling and version control
• Own delivery velocity and identify bottlenecks to maintain momentum
• Collaborate with product and cross-functional stakeholders to define and prioritize deliverables
• Establish scalable CI/CD standards and engineering workflows
• Foster full-stack thinking, understanding business context and owning end-to-end problems
