Job summary

Canada Life in Vancouver is seeking a Disability Medical Coordinator who is a regulated healthcare professional in good standing. The role focuses on coordinating medical care to support early return to employability and engages with claimants, physicians, and treatment providers.

You will work both in office and remotely from home, collaborating with Case Managers and Rehabilitation Consultants to develop cost-effective plans, document findings, and maintain accurate electronic records.

Qualifications

• Regulated healthcare professional with current registration in good standing.
• At least five years of clinical experience.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, demanding environment.
• Strong organizational skills and adaptability.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Assess the potential for medical coordination to impact the duration of a disability claim.
• Assess diagnostic and treatment needs, develop plans through file review and claimant interviews.
• Negotiate and develop cost-effective, proactive plans focused on return to employability.
• Maintain ongoing contact with claimants and support barrier resolution.
• Provide ongoing consultation to Case Managers and Rehabilitation Consultants.
• Prepare written reports detailing findings and recommendations.
• Accurately maintain electronic file documentation and internal records.
