Job summary

gaiia is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer - Migration to partner with customers and internal teams to plan and execute data migrations onto the gaiia platform. You will own the migration end‑to‑end, from discovery through validated production data, blending solutioning with hands‑on technical execution.

Responsibilities include leading migration discovery, designing data mappings, performing extractions/transformations, and coordinating cutover with stakeholders. Travel to US may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience (4-6+ years) spanning customer-facing implementation/solutioning and hands‑on data or software engineering.
• Strong SQL and TypeScript/JavaScript (Node) for querying and transforming data.
• Solid ETL fundamentals: staging, incremental loads, validation, and reconciliation.
• Proven track record managing technical projects with external stakeholders.
• Experience with messy legacy systems and ambiguity‑driven delivery.
• Familiarity with OSS/BSS, telecom, or billing/CRM data models is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead migration discovery sessions to understand legacy environments and data models.
• Design migration approach, data mappings, constraints, and cutover strategy.
• Extract data via SQL, APIs, and exports; transform/load to target schemas; validate.
• Coordinate with Product and Engineering to influence tooling roadmap; deliver end‑to‑end migration.
• Build repeatable templates and playbooks to accelerate future migrations.
