Job summary

Affirm is seeking a mid-level Software Engineer in Canada to join the Information Security team. You will help build backend services powering registration, login, authorization, and account lifecycle for both B2C and B2B experiences, with a focus on secure, scalable CIAM capabilities.

You’ll work with Python or Kotlin, contribute through the full SDLC, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ship reliable authentication features and improve system resilience in production.

Qualifications

• Experience writing, testing, and debugging software in Python or Kotlin.
• Foundational backend knowledge: APIs, data structures, databases, version control.
• Curiosity about authentication and CIAM concepts is a plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer-facing authentication features with mentorship.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin.
• Work with identity tech like Okta, Auth0, and ForgeRock.
• Take features through the SDLC with design, testing, code reviews, and production deployment.
• Debug services and improve reliability using logs and metrics.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to grow expertise in authentication.
