Job summary

Affirm is building the next generation of CIAM backend services to power registration, authentication, and account lifecycle across B2C and B2B platforms. This hands-on engineering role emphasizes security, reliability, and scalable design in a remote-first environment across Canada.

You will develop Python or Kotlin APIs, implement OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM standards, and operate CIAM services with MFA and adaptive authentication, while collaborating with global teams.

Qualifications

• CIAM design experience including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, SCIM.
• 7+ years backend design, development and deployment experience.
• Strong communication and collaboration across global teams.
• Experience with AWS, databases, and distributed systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate CIAM backend services for registration, auth, and account lifecycle.
• Implement and extend identity standards in code with scalable patterns.
• Develop Python or Kotlin APIs for web, mobile, and partner apps.
• Automate infrastructure and deployments using IaC and CI/CD.
• Monitor and optimize performance, resilience, and abuse detection.
