Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is seeking a mid-level backend engineer focused on CIAM to build and maintain authentication services powering registration, login, authorization, and account lifecycle flows for B2C and B2B experiences.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and partner teams to deliver secure, reliable features. You will work on backend systems and APIs in Python or Kotlin, integrate with Okta, Auth0 and ForgeRock, and contribute across the full development lifecycle with a focus on security

Qualifications

• Wrote, tested and debugged software in Python/Kotlin or similar language.
• Understanding of APIs, data structures, databases, and version control.
• Interest in authentication/security and CIAM platforms.
• Problem-solving mindset with willingness to learn through code reviews.
• Ability to collaborate with security, product and engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer-facing authentication features from login to MFA and device binding.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin.
• Integrate identity technologies like Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock across web and mobile apps.
• Contribute to design, code reviews, tests, and production deployments with team support.
• Debug services to improve reliability using logs and metrics from production.
