Job summary

Affirm, Inc. is hiring for a mid‑engineering backend role focused on CIAM authentication. You will build and maintain backend services powering registration, login, MFA and device binding, partnering with teams to deliver secure features.

You will work with Python or Kotlin, integrate with Okta/Auth0/ForgeRock, and contribute to design, code reviews and production deployments in a remote-first setup.

Qualifications

• Experience writing, testing, and debugging Python or Kotlin code.
• Solid understanding of APIs, data structures, databases and version control.
• Interest in authentication, security, and reliable customer experiences.
• Willingness to learn through mentorship and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship customer authentication features from login to MFA and device binding.
• Develop backend services and APIs in Python or Kotlin to support secure access.
• Integrate with identity technologies like Okta, Auth0 and ForgeRock.
• Move features through design, coding, testing, reviews and production deployment.
• Improve reliability via debugging, logs and metrics in production systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, product and security teammates on secure workflows.
