Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer for the Identity Decisioning team to build backend systems that validate consumer identity in line with KYC requirements. You will work alongside Product, Compliance, Auth, Fraud, and other engineering teams to deliver transparent financial products and support various product decisions.

You will break down projects, deliver in phases, and collaborate to ensure timely delivery while maintaining on-call reliability and observability.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and launch backend services that interact with multiple components.
• Collaborate with product, compliance, design, analytics, and other engineering teams.
• Support operations with monitoring, on-call duties, and metrics.
• Participate in interview processes and team growth activities.
