Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Software Engineer for the Identity Decisioning team, building backend systems to validate consumer identity following regulatory protocols like KYC. You will work with Product, Compliance, Auth, Fraud, and other teams to deliver transparent financial products.

Qualifications

• Total of 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems with Python or Kotlin.
• Familiar with distributed systems and technologies like AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes.
• Able to turn simple problems into solutions interacting with multiple components and write clean, tested, extensible code.
• Comfortable navigating a large codebase, debugging, and giving feedback via code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks and deliver in phases with timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product management, design & analytics in ideation and decisions.
• Support operations and availability by creating/monitoring metrics and on-call work.
• Engage in growth and development activities, e.g., interview participation.
