Affirm is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Partner Merchant Interface) to join the Decisions Foundations Integration team. This remote Canada role focuses on APIs used by Partners and Merchants, powering integrations with major partners like Amazon and Stripe.

You will design, develop and operate backend systems at scale using Python or Kotlin, with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes. Strong collaboration and ownership mindset are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Proficient in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiar with distributed systems concepts and cloud tech (AWS, MySQL, Kubernetes).
• Able to transform simple problems into multi-component solutions with clear, tested code.
• Strong in code reviews and collaboration across teams.
