Job summary

Talantir, a Canada-based company, is seeking a Controller to lead financial reporting and operations across monthly, quarterly, and annual closes. The role emphasizes AI-driven finance solutions, internal controls, and cross-functional collaboration with HR, Operations, and Sales.

You will manage accounting activities, drive automation, and mentor staff while partnering with the CFO on strategic initiatives and investor reporting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in progressive financial operations management, preferably including Big 4 or regional CPA firm exposure.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, G/L, ERP systems, billing, payroll, tax, revenue recognition, FP&A.
• Recent experience with AI adoption in Finance and ability to leverage automation.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, producing accurate financial statements, dashboards, KPIs and analyses.
• Manage daily accounting operations: AP, AR, billing, G/L, cash, revenue recognition and daily dashboards.
• Develop, refine and maintain internal controls; ensure GAAP compliance.
• Coordinate audits and tax activities with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Perform strategic analyses of costs, revenues, variances, and improvement opportunities.
• Lead, train and mentor accounting staff, driving automation and process improvements.
