Job summary

Interfor Bathurst mill seeks a Maintenance Superintendent to lead reliability and performance of our operations. You’ll lead a skilled team, champion safety, and implement maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime.

This role focuses on safe, compliant maintenance, preventive and predictive programs, planning, and continuous improvement in a dynamic, supportive environment with opportunities to shape culture.

Qualifications

  • 5 years in wood products manufacturing or heavy industrial settings.
  • 5 years of team leadership experience.
  • Fluent in both French and English.
  • Proficient with MS Office and CMMS.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a safe, compliant maintenance operation following safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance team through supervision, training, and performance support.
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and parts inventory with CMMS records.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and manage projects to reduce costs and boost efficiency.

What You'll Do
  • Lead a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible maintenance operation, ensuring all safety, health, and environmental standards are followed.
  • Manage and develop the maintenance team, including supervision, training, communication, performance support, and hiring activities.
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs using industry best practices, technology, and CMMS tools to maximize equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Oversee maintenance planning, scheduling, and resources, including work orders, spare parts inventory, maintenance supplies, and equipment records.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities by analyzing maintenance performance, managing projects, reducing costs, and improving operational efficiency.
What You Offer
