Job summary

Groupe AGF Inc. is seeking Reinforcing Ironworkers (Rodbusters) to join teams in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta. You will read blueprints, cut, bend and install reinforcing steel, and work with cranes in a dynamic construction setting.

Training and long-term apprenticeship support are offered within a safety-focused culture. The role features weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package after probation, pension plans, and wage progression under the collective agreement.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret structural drawings and blueprints.

  • Install rebar in footings, walls, slabs, columns, and other structures.
  • Handle and move materials, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Work with cranes and rigging equipment when required.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures.
  • Work in a fast paced construction environment.
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

AGF Rebar is looking for Reinforcing Ironworkers (Rodbusters) to join our teams working on a variety of construction projects across the Calgary and Edmonton regions in Alberta, with opportunities to work on major infrastructure projects across Western Canada.

Main Responsibilities

About You

The ideal candidate is reliable, motivated, and willing to work in a hands-on trade environment.


Experience or assets


  • Previous construction or labour experience is an asset but not required

  • Willingness to learn rebar installation, tying, and basic construction methods

  • Strong work ethic and reliability

  • Commitment to safe work practices


Requirements


  • WHMIS certification required

  • CSTS-2020 required

  • Must be registered with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT)

  • Journeyperson certification is an asset or must enter apprenticeship program

  • Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
