Job summary

AGF Group in London, ON is seeking a Machine Operator for a full-time temporary position (6-8 weeks). The role involves fabricating rebar from bar lists, assisting with material handling, tagging bundles, and performing duties in a safety-conscious environment. Training provided and opportunities for advancement are offered. The shift runs 7:00 a.m.

to 3:30 p.m. with potential overtime until 5:30 p.m. The starting wage is $20.50/hour, with weekly pay in a family-owned company.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
• Experience operating an overhead crane is an asset.
• Basic math and measurement skills are an asset.
• Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to perform physical tasks – lift/move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow bar lists to fabricate rebar according to specific specifications.
• Assist equipment operators with material handling.
• Affix identification tags to fabricated rebar bundles.
• Support with additional assigned tasks as required.
• Act in compliance with AGF’s Health & Safety policies following the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• Other duties as assigned

Join our team! AGF is seeking a Machine Operator to join our dynamic team based in our London shop (120 McMillan St, London, ON N5W 6C6).

In our London plant, we transform steel bars into custom-cut and bent rebar, which is bundled onto our trucks and delivered to construction sites across the region. It’s hands-on, physical work that plays a vital role in every project we support.

About the Role - Your main responsibilities will include:

About You - The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing;
• Experience operating an overhead crane (an asset);
• Basic math and measurement skills (an asset);
• Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment;
• Ability to perform physical tasks – lift/move up to 50 lbs;
• Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and perform physical labor;
• Strong multitasking skills and capacity for teamwork.
