Job summary

Hamilton Region Emergency Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our emergency team. You will work alongside our veterinarians to deliver compassionate care for pets during critical moments, with a focus on efficiency, communication, and teamwork.

The role includes patient care, diagnostics, administering medication, procedures, client education, and supporting admissions and discharges.

Qualifications

• RVT certification with eligibility to register
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Willingness to work day, night and weekend shifts
• Strong patient-care and teamwork abilities

The Role:

We are looking for a rockstar Registered Veterinary Technician to join our growing team!

Our Technicians play a critical role on our medical team. You will work hand in hand with our veterinarians to deliver exceptional patient care. Your compassion, knowledge and positive energy will shine through as you work with pet owners. You are efficient, organized, collaborative and an excellent communicator.

Key responsibilities:

• Patient care
• Performing blood work and other diagnostics
• Administering medication
• Preparing and performing procedures
• Leading admission and discharge
• Client support & education
• Educating clients, responding to their questions and requests, and performing any follow up activities to support them (e.g., calls, reports)
• Collaborating with the broader team (e.g., reception, assistants) to provide exceptional service
• Providing guidance, education and support on key areas (e.g., nutrition, medication, wellness, etc.)

Your Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or eligible to register
• Excellent communications skills (both verbal and written) in English
• Ability to work days, nights and weekends
• Positive and welcoming attitude
