Job summary

Downtown Animal Hospital in Kingston is seeking an experienced RVT for emergency and urgent care to join a dedicated team. You will provide critical nursing support, monitor patients, and collaborate with 8 DVMs, 10 RVTs, and 5 Veterinary Assistants in a fast‑paced environment.

The role offers a 36‑hour work week with day/evening/night/ weekend shifts, small‑animal emphasis, and access to digital radiography, ultrasound, and in‑house analyzers to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Ontario RVT registration or eligibility for registration in Ontario.
• Passion for emergency and urgent veterinary medicine.
• Strong patient care, nursing, and monitoring skills.
• Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast‑paced environment.

• Toxin exposures
• Acute gastrointestinal and urinary emergencies
• Seizures
• Acute lameness cases
• Quill injuries
• Chronic kidney disease and diabetic crises
• Emergency surgeries including pyometra, GDVs, and foreign body removals
