Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform X-rays and operate imaging equipment in the department and in operating rooms. Responsibilities

• Performs xrays and operates equipment in the department/portably and in the operating room.
• Completes imaging requests on ED/IP/OP patients in a timely, safe and professional manner.
• Coordinates daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases as required.
• Performs a variety of diagnostic procedures in the department, in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures.
• Complies with safe radiation practices at all times.
• Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required.
• Reports to senior technologists and manager.
• Participates in the orientation of new staff and students as directed.
• Assists radiology residents and fellows within the division as required.
• Performs required care and maintenance of equipment as required.
• Maintains adequate records and documentation according to departmental policy and procedures and exams.
