Job summary

Brightshores Health System in Owen Sound seeks a Registered MRT to perform radiographic and CT examinations, ensuring high quality images and patient safety. You will monitor equipment, instruct patients, and maintain competency across the department's exams.

The role requires current CMRT registration in Radiography, CAMRT registration eligibility, and DR/CR/PACS/CT experience. Part-time, temporary position with evening/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Three-year community college program or undergraduate degree.
• Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario in Radiography or eligible.
• Professional liability insurance.

• Knowledge of Ontario Standards of Practice and RHPA.
• Experience with DR/CR equipment and OR imaging.

WAGE RATE: $38.80 - $52.91

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager of Medical Imaging, the Medical Radiation Technologist’s (MRT) key responsibilities include: performing radiographic and CT examinations; monitoring/adjusting equipment to ensure high quality radiographs and ensure a safe working environment on all shifts. The MRT provides instruction to patients before and during examinations and assesses relevance of the examination based on patient clinical history. It is the responsibility of the incumbent to maintain competency in the radiology and CT examinations required and performed within the department. Duties are conducted in accordance with the Standards of Practice of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario and the Regulated Health Professions Act.

Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:

Required

• 3 year community college or undergraduate degree
• Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario in Radiography or eligible for registration
• Professional Liability Insurance
• Current registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologist (or eligible for registration)
• Working knowledge of the Standards of Practice of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario and the Regulated Health Professions Act
• Current technical experience with Digital Radiography and Computed Radiography equipment used to acquire high quality image including Operating Room Experience
• Current PACS experience
• Current CT experience
• IV Certification course
• Advanced Computer Skills
• Proven interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with patients and staff
