Registered Psychiatric Nurse / Registered Nurse

Opportunity: As a member of the interdisciplinary team on Unit 3C at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, the RN/RPN provides safe, patient-centered care on a 22-bed Older Adult/Geriatric Psychiatry Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit. Responsibilities include applying current nursing skills to mood disorders, thought disorders, and dementia care, ensuring safe, effective, and family-centered care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The nurse will also provide leadership, support staff orientation, and student learning experiences. This position transitions to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024, and by applying, candidates agree to this transition.

Responsibilities: Provide leadership and nursing services to promote, maintain, or restore mental health, teach, counsel, advocate, and ensure patient safety and well-being. Deliver safe, quality, patient and family-centered care reflecting AHS values.

Qualifications: Completion of an accredited psychiatric nursing program, active or eligible registration with CRPNA, current BCLS-HCP. Experience in Mental Health (Geriatric/Adult Psychiatry), assessment skills, crisis response, suicide risk assessment, harm reduction, de-escalation, behavioral safety plans. Excellent leadership, communication, and time management skills. Connect Care training, NCI, IV certification, and SPRAM modules are preferred.
