Job Overview

This role involves providing professional nursing care, including administering biologics or specialty pharmaceutical products, conducting health reviews, and collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care in an ambulatory setting.

Compensation
  • Starting Wage: $42.54/hour + premiums and incentives
Key Responsibilities
  1. Assess patient health status and eligibility for therapies.
  2. Insert peripheral IVs and establish access via central lines using sterile techniques.
  3. Review patient files and prior records.
  4. Handle and reconstitute biologic or oncology medications per guidelines.
  5. Follow standards for medication administration.
  6. Educate and counsel patients, promoting independence.
  7. Document care and manage records per policies.
  8. Report adverse events and monitor medical therapy post-administration.
  9. Participate in training, audits, and maintain knowledge of therapies and policies.
  10. Ensure safety, infection control, and quality standards.
General Responsibilities
  1. Maintain communication and documentation among nursing teams.
  2. Support patients and maintain confidentiality.
  3. Ensure a safe, clean working environment.
  4. Maintain supplies and equipment.
  5. Engage in ongoing professional development.
  6. Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant nursing experience or equivalent.
  • RN licensed with the College of Nurses of Alberta, in good standing.
Key Competencies
  • Infusion certification or equivalent experience.
  • CPR certification; ACLS an asset.
  • Professional designation as a Registered Nurse.
  • Strong assessment, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in emergencies.
  • Proficiency with electronic records and MS Office.
  • Adaptability and teamwork skills.
