Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Mississauga, Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to join our community team. You will provide professional nursing care aligned with resident plans and medical orders, ensuring comfort and dignity for residents in a supportive environment.

Reporting to the Director of Care, you will supervise care staff, coordinate admissions and changes in status, and foster strong communication with residents and families.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Experience in geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health is an asset.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy and resident plan within RPN/LPN scope.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care using sound nursing principles.
• Create a welcoming, supportive environment through teamwork and communication.
• Oversee resident care and guide staff with regular updates to families.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers on the unit.
• Assess admissions, readmissions, and changes in status.

Reporting to the Director of Care, the Registered Practical Nurse is a critical role within our communities as it impacts the lives of residents.

What you’ll be doing:

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who you are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
