Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for a temporary night shift in Orangeville. You will support pediatric clients at home, follow care plans, and work closely with families to ensure safety and comfort.

The role emphasizes compassionate, consistent care, documentation, and collaboration with the WeeCare team. A valid CNO license, pediatric experience, BLS, and a recent Vulnerable Sector Check are required for consideration.

Qualifications

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Experience working with pediatric clients in home care.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check completed within the past 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide care per the client’s plan in the home setting.
• Assist with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
• Observe and report changes in the child’s condition to guardian and WeeCare.
• Maintain patient records and required documentation.
• Ensure a safe, clean home environment and proper equipment handling.
• Communicate concerns promptly and respond appropriately.

Position

Temporary Registered Practical Nurse in Orangeville,ON.

Assignment Duration

October 20 - November 19, 2026 (subject to reassessment and possible extension)

Schedule

• Sunday-Thursday, 22:00-07:30

General Duties (specific duties may vary based on individual client needs)

• Maintain child's records and required documentation
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report on changes in child's condition to guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transferring, and adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of child’s needs and maximize abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child/parent/guardian
• Respond to child/parent/guardian concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken
• Assist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify supervisor of any concerns impacting child’s safety, incidents, and accidents
• Complete all other tasks as assigned

Requirements
