Job summary

WeeCare Pediatric Home Health Care in Barrie, ON is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Registered Nurse to provide care in home settings, ensuring safety, comfort and continuity for the child and family.

You will work three shifts per week from 19:00 to 08:00, with scheduling that may vary, requiring reliability, empathy, and strong clinical judgment to adapt to each child’s needs.

Qualifications

• Active CNO registration and in good standing.
• Pediatric client experience required.
• Current BLS certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Check cleared in last 6 months.
• Professional Liability Insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management.
• Administer and document medications per standards.
• Monitor medication safety and narcotics storage.
• Maintain child records per CNO standards.
• Assist with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Observe changes and report to family and WeeCare.
• Assist with mobility and transfers.
• Support child's physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs.
• Respond to concerns and follow up with families.
• Keep environment safe and equipment clean.
• Notify supervisor of safety concerns.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Position

Full-time Pediatric Registered Nurse in Barrie, ON.

Schedule

• Three shifts per week, 19:00–08:00 (days vary based on scheduling needs).

Please note: To be considered for this position, applicants must be able to commit to a consistent weekly schedule.

General Duties

• Provide G/GJ tube care and management
• Administer and document medications as prescribed, in accordance with CNO medication administration standards
• Monitor and ensure the safekeeping of medications and narcotics
• Maintain the child's records and required documentation in accordance with CNO standards
• Assist the child with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living
• Observe and report changes in the child's condition to the parent/guardian and WeeCare
• Assist with ambulation, mobilization, transfers, and use of adaptive aids
• Demonstrate understanding of the child’s needs and support the child in maximizing their abilities
• Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to the child and family
• Respond to child and family concerns and ensure appropriate follow-upAssist in maintaining a safe and cleanly environment, including the child’s equipment and belongings
• Notify the supervisor of any concerns related to the child’s safety, incidents, or accidents
• Complete other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Licensed and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• Experience working with pediatric clients
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) completed within the past 6 months
• Professional Liability Insurance (PLI)
