Job summary

Nurse Next Door Home Care Services is hiring caregivers in Oakville to support seniors in aging at home with compassion and respect. You will follow personalized care plans, assist with daily activities, and ensure safety while fostering a warm, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous nursing experience is an asset.
• Valid CNO license.
• Must be able to communicate in English (verbal and written).
• Background or Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search required (updated every 5 years).
• Negative TB Screen (updated every 5 years).
• Covid-19 vaccination confirmation or medical exemption letter.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, companionship and personal care.
• Nursing tasks include medication administration, wound care, head-to-toe assessment, vitals, and liaising with physicians.
• Enabling seniors to live at home as long as possible and follow the client care plan.
• Execute on the client’s care plan laid out by the Care Designer.
• Meet safety needs and use equipment safely.
• Assist clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises.
• Complete records and documentation accurately.
• Serve the Oakville/Burlington area.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Provide meal preparation, light housekeeping, and/or provide companionship and personal care
• Nursing tasks include – medication administration, wound care, head to toe assessment, vitals signs, pain assessment, liaising with physicians, diabetic management.
• Happier Aging is at the heart of what we do – enabling seniors to live at home as long as possible, doing what they love to do.
• Execute on the client’s care plan as outlined by the Care Designer
• Meet the safety needs of the client and use equipment safely and properly
• Help clients with their ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) that is within the scope of practice for a Registered Health Care Aide.
• Assist clients with transfers, ambulation and exercises.
• Function within the limits of your own experience and knowledge, while practicing safely and competently within the job description
• Complete records and documentation accurately and thoroughly
• Service the Oakville/ Burlington area

Requirements

• Previous nursing experience is an asset.
• Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Designers when needed
• Valid CNO license
• Must be able to community verbally and in writing in English, other languages are an asset
• Background or Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Search (updated every 5 years for continued employment)
• Negative TB Screen (updated every 5 years for continued employment)
• Covid – 19 Vaccination Confirmation or medical exemption letter
• Valid driver’s license is required
