Job summary

Norfolk County’s Norview Lodge is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to lead care teams and provide resident-centred nursing care in a dynamic, long-term care setting in Simcoe, ON. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, administer medications, and document comprehensively to support health and wellbeing.

You’ll collaborate with families and health professionals, participate in committees, and mentor staff while upholding infection control and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse with current Certificate of Competence (Ontario).
• 1–2 years of long-term care experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of Ministry of Health standards is an asset.
• Basic gerontology and dementia study knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide team leadership to non-regulated staff.
• Deliver resident care using the nursing process.
• Administer medications and maintain the medication system.
• Collaborate with residents, families, physicians and care team; evaluate care.
• Participate in teams/committees; support resident-centred care.
• Adhere to health and safety, infection control, and policies.
• Orientate new staff and participate in educational opportunities.
• Be aware of emergency procedures and participate in drills.
