Qualifications:

• Current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Recent, within the last two (2) years related nursing experience in acute medicine and/or geriatrics.
• Coronary Care Nursing 1 (or equivalent) preferred, OR must start Coronary Care Nursing 1 (or equivalent) within 1 year of start date.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize problem solving and critical thinking techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, high turnover environment.
• Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and decision making in assessment, problem identification, problem solving and management of adult and geriatric medicine patients, including rehabilitative approaches to patient care.
• Evidence of commitment to professional practice and ongoing professional development, demonstrated leadership ability and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated proficiency in working with patients, families, peers and multidisciplinary healthcare teams in an effective, professional, caring manner.
• Willingness to participate in Quality Improvement and innovation.
• Demonstrate excellent attendance, punctuality and performance.
