Job summary

Brant Community Healthcare System in Brantford, Ontario, is seeking an experienced Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our Emergency Services team. Reporting to the Clinical Manager, you will deliver patient-centered care across fast-paced, acute care settings.

You will maintain high standards, perform venipuncture and ECG, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in ongoing education to support quality care and safety.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• 2 years of acute care experience within the last 5 years required.
• Current BCLS certificate.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation Certification (or will obtain within 6 months of employment).
• Current PEARS certificate (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced emergency setting.
• Perform venipuncture and lead ECG as required.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, effective care.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Emergency Services, the successful applicant must meet the following criteria:

Mandatory Qualifications

• Current certificate of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
• 2 years of acute care experience within the last 5 years required
• Current B.C.L.S. Certificate
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation Certification (or will obtain within 6 months of employment)

Preferred Qualifications

• Current PEARS Certificate

• Excellent conflict resolution skills
• Excellent patient assessment skills, successful completion of the Patient Assessment course an asset
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, critical thinking, and time management skills
• Proven ability to organize workload in a fast paced constantly changing environment
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and professionalism in nursing
• Able to perform venipuncture, 12/15 Lead ECG
• Meditech experience
• Demonstrated commitment to quality patient care and experience in patient education
• Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Must be able to function within your full scope of practice as an RPN
