Job summary

The MICs Group of Health Services is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse to provide safe, high-quality care across patient populations under supervision. You will support direct care, med administration, and care planning while educating patients and families.

Applicants should be in good standing with CNO, hold current BLS, and have strong communication skills in English (French an asset). The role includes a pension plan and is performed on site.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• One year of work experience in acute care, complex continuing care, or long-term care preferred.
• Current BLS – Heart and Stroke certification.
• Knowledge of Nursing Process, CNO standards and legislated acts.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to follow facility policies.
• English required; French is an asset.
• Experience with computers including Outlook, PCC, and PCS/Meditech.
• Physical ability to perform job duties.
• A clear vulnerable sector check is required.

Job description

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) provides safe, high-quality nursing care to patients and residents across the MICs Group of Health Services, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in accordance with the standards set by the College of Nurses of Ontario.

As a key member of the Patient Care Team, the RPN supports direct patient care, medication administration, care planning, and patient and family education. The RPN works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, demonstrates sound clinical judgment, and maintains accurate records while promoting a safe and respectful environment.

This role requires a commitment to patient safety, strong communication skills, and the ability to adapt to changing patient needs in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
• One year of work experience in acute care, complex continuing care, or long-term care settings is preferred
• Current BLS – Heart and Stroke certification
• Knowledge and practice of the Nursing Process, CNO standards, and legislated acts to provide quality patient care to all age groups; adherence to best practice guidelines
• Excellent communication skills to understand and follow facility policies and procedures
• English required; French an asset
• Experience with computers including Outlook, PCC, and PCS/Meditech
• Physical ability to perform job duties
• A clear vulnerable sector check will be required by the successful candidate as a condition of employment

Compensation

• Rate of pay: $37.53 – $39.48 / hour (commensurate with qualifications and experience) as per the SEIU collective agreement
• Percentage in lieu of benefits and vacation
• Enroll in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
