Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a Casual Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for sick and vacation coverage. The RPN will play a vital role in enhancing residents' lives through medication administration, care planning, and promoting wellness. Candidates must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and have experience in Geriatric Nursing.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare, or Rehabilitation.
• Successful clearance of a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Meeting provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements.

Responsibilities

• Preparing and administering prescribed medications and treatments.
• Documenting and addressing concerns and complaints from clients.

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) plays a vital role within our communities, impacting residents' lives and fostering human connection.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preparing and administering prescribed medications and treatments as directed by the Physician, following the College of Nurses of Ontario’s Medication Administration Standards.
2. Documenting and addressing concerns and complaints from clients, families, or team members, and seeking assistance from the Registered Nurse or designate as needed.
3. Promoting clients’ self-care, wellness, and health education, focusing on holistic care.
4. Completing assessments, care plans, and related documentation within required timeframes.
5. Supporting unregulated care workers through guidance, training, and education.
6. Performing additional duties as assigned.

Must-Haves:

• Current registration as an RPN with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate.
• Current Medication Administration Certificate.
• At least one year of experience in Geriatric Nursing, Healthcare, or Rehabilitation.
• Successful clearance of a Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Meeting provincial police check and tuberculosis screening requirements, as applicable.

Bonus Points:

• Post-graduate studies in Geriatrics and Nursing Administration are advantageous.
