This role involves working autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, focusing on community health, chronic disease management, and emergency care. Candidates must have relevant nursing certifications and experience, with a strong emphasis on culturally sensitive care and effective communication.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

The care approach must be community and culturally sensitive, client-focused, and aimed at maintaining or enhancing health. This involves activities across disease prevention, chronic disease management, and acute care, including emergency assessment, treatment, palliation, health status assessment, care planning, intervention implementation, evaluation, and service coordination.
Travel may be required, and transportation arrangements must meet Island Health operational requirements, potentially including the use of a personal vehicle.
