Job summary

CareRx seeks a Registered Pharmacy Technician to support our Pharmacy team serving LTC homes and retirement communities in Calgary. You will assist with preparation, packaging, distribution, and final checks to ensure safe drug delivery across multiple facilities.

The role offers exposure to geriatrics, palliative care, and mental health medications, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and compliant processes in a non-retail environment.

Qualifications

• Registered with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) in good standing.
• Experience in long-term care or retirement settings preferred.
• Strong data-entry and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Staff Pharmacist with preparation, packaging and distribution of prescriptions.
• Confirm prescriptions are complete and authentic.
• Gather and ensure completeness of all necessary information.
• Confirm data entry accuracy in eMAR and Kroll.
• Confirm accuracy of pharmaceutical products and ensure final checks before release.
• Maintain documentation, confidentiality, and a clean pharmacy environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Registered Pharmacy Technician (Finance)

CareRx is looking for a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team in supporting a group of LTC Homes and Retirement Communities in delivering safe and effective drug distribution services across multiple facilities. This role offers the opportunity to develop expertise in areas such as geriatrics, palliative care, and mental health medications. The successful candidate will also enhance their accuracy and efficiency in performing final checks related to compounding, compliance packaging, and other prescription fulfillment processes.

Role Accountabilities

• Assist the Staff Pharmacist with the preparation, packaging and distribution of patient prescriptions
• Ensure that all prescriptions are complete and authentic
• Gather and ensure completeness of all necessary information,
• Confirm data entry accuracy in eMAR and Kroll
• Confirm accuracy of pharmaceutical products and ensure final checks are completed for accuracy prior to their release
• Ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and contributing to a clean pharmacy environment
• Other duties as assigned

What You Will Bring to The Team

• Registered and in good standing with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP)
• Knowledge of KROLL Pharmacy systems in a long-term care setting is a strong asset
• Retail/Community/ Long Term Care Pharmacy experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated computer or work processing skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Compensation Range

Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience.

Location

This is on-site role at our Calgary Pharmacy at 126-10748 74 Street SE and follows a five-day work week with participation in on-call rotation for weekends.
