Job summary

CareRx is seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team in supporting a group of LTC Homes and Retirement Communities in delivering safe and effective drug distribution services across multiple facilities. This on-site role in Victoria, BC offers an opportunity to develop expertise in geriatrics, palliative care, and mental health medications.

The successful candidate will provide final checks related to compounding, compliance packaging, and other prescription fulfillment

Qualifications

• Registered and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (RPhT).
• Knowledge of KROLL Pharmacy systems in a long-term care setting is a strong asset.
• Retail/Community/ Long Term Care Pharmacy experiences strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated computer or word processing skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Staff Pharmacist with the preparation, packaging and distribution of patient prescriptions.
• Ensure that all prescriptions are complete and authentic.
• Gather and ensure completeness of all necessary information.
• Confirm data entry accuracy in eMAR and Kroll.
• Confirm accuracy of pharmaceutical products and ensure final checks are completed for accuracy prior to their release.
• Ensuring accurate documentation, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to ethical standards, and contributing to a clean pharmacy environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Range:

$33 - $36/hour. Actualpay rate will be based on the individual candidate’s credentials and experience.

Location:

This is on-site role at our Victoria Pharmacy (570 Bay Street Victoria, BC)and follows a five-day work week with participation in on-call rotation for weekends.
