5 South is a post-cardiac surgery telemetry unit providing a step-down level of care to patients no longer requiring intensive care in our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. An interdisciplinary team provides both tertiary and community level care to cardiac surgical patients.
Using a multidisciplinary and collaborative team approach, dedicated to the principles of patient-and family-centered care, the Registered Nurse coordinates and evaluates patient care and provides nursing care according to the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario, and Standards of Practice for Critical Care Nurses in Ontario. The RN will participate in continued education, completion and maintenance of certifications associated with the identified nursing skills and completed learning plans to achieve these goals.
Rotating days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
