Neonatal Intensive Care Unit & Paediatric Inpatient Unit

**Composite = the successful candidates will be required to work in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit & Paediatric Inpatient Unit with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as the home unit.**

It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event you are successful.

Reporting to the Manager of Neonatal Intensive Care and Maternity Centre, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients, including complex patient populations whose outcomes are unpredictable. As part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will practice within the Professional Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the philosophy of patient and family-centered care, and the policies of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

  1. Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario, or the ability to become licensed with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  2. Current certification in BCLS.
  3. Recent experience in neonatal nursing, including care of critical and complex patient populations such as preterm infants, stabilization post-resuscitation, and critically ill infants.
  4. Recent experience working with cardio-respiratory monitoring in a critical care setting.
  5. Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) for individualized care planning and delivery.
  6. Ability to recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responses and take appropriate action.
  7. Ability to manage multiple nursing interventions simultaneously.
  8. Strong interprofessional and communication skills.
  9. Central Venous Line Management experience.

Preferences will be given to applicants who:

  1. Have certification or recent continuing education in neonatal, pediatric, or perinatal nursing, including PALS, ENPC, lactation support/education.

Salary Range: $39.07 to $56.00
