Job Description

Salary Range: $63.75 - $73.33

Reporting to the Director of Perioperative Services, you will develop and provide assessment strategies within a holistic nursing framework for surgical patients. The Nurse Practitioner will focus on perioperative care for orthopedic patients within the bundled care model. You will interpret diagnostic tests, guide patient care in collaboration with physicians, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team and community partners. Monitoring and evaluating outcomes, applying critical thinking, and collaborating on best practice guidelines are essential components of this role. You will also educate patients and healthcare professionals pre- and post-operatively.

The physical demands may include prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Ensuring a safe environment for all is a key responsibility.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Masters of Nursing with a Primary Care or Adult Nurse Practitioner Certificate and current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • 3–5 years of current surgical nursing experience
  • Advanced knowledge in assessment, management, and evaluation of perioperative patients
  • Member of RNAO with liability coverage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple demands and conflicting priorities
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practice, research, and change theory
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Passion for nursing excellence
  • Regular attendance
